FEDERAL GOLF CLUB PROPOSED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT: Letters to the Editor and Submissions to the ACT Planning Authority

Some letters to the Editor, Canberra Times, from members of the community who oppose the proposed residential development on the Federal Golf Club lease are reproduced here.

Some letters to and from Members of the ACT Legislative Assembly are shown here.

In an email on 4 May 2010 Ms LeCouteur stated that:

''FYI I lived in Garran the last time the golf club tried to sell off part of its land for housing. I think that the arguments against housing on Red Hill were persuasive last time and are still persuasive. While the Greens support increased urban density, I don’t think up Red Hill is a very good place for it. The access will be poor and it will never have a bus service.''

Another reply from Ms LeCouteur dated 6 May 2010 on behalf of the Greens

Some submissions to the ACT Planning Authority in response to the request for comments on the Environmental Impact Statement, which is required as part of the lease deconcessionalisation process.
